Public Scholarship
The public scholarship model is a way to involve stakeholders at all levels in the decision-making process. The One Love Symposium will use the public scholarship model to scaffold young people into considering what skill sets are necessary for the Human Services Professional.
Our Teen Writing Contest and Summer Preview Event create opportunities for young people to engage in future-forward thinking, and we’re going to pay them for it! Teachers who support these young people will be compensated as well.
The goal of the One Love Symposium is to establish the Human Services Professional Conference, a state-supported conference to develop scholarship, professional learning, and ultimately, certification for The Human Services Professional.
To that end, the Teen Writing Contest asks young people to contribute writing about what it is we all have in common - the natural foundational body of learning for the Human Services Professional - if your job is to deal with everybody, you should be thinking about what it is that motivates people to do what they do - examining Universal Human Values is a great way to start!
