The Human Services Professional - 2

Doctors, Teachers, and Police have many shared characteristics, most notably:

  1. They are “high-tough” professions - everybody at some time will need a doctor, a teacher, or a cop

  2. Each of these professions are asked to evaluate human intention, behavior, and circumstances, often in high stress conditions

  3. These professions are trusted with wide discretion in these interpretations

  4. These interpretations of intention, behavior, and circumstance made by individuals often lead the recipient down a pathway that may have life-long implications
